Without publicly financed elections, our campaign depends on individual donations to stay competitive. Contributions from $1 to $2,000 are welcome and greatly appreciated!

All campaign positions are unpaid right now, until we raise enough funds to consider affording any paid positions. Anything you provide will be used directly for campaign materials and events. For all questions pertaining to campaign contributions, e-mail donate@votesteve.org.

Who May Contribute

Steve will accept campaign contributions up to the federal limit of $2,000 from any U.S. citizen or lawful resident who is not directly under contract with the federal government.  Employees of companies that are federal contractors may contribute.  If you are a sole proprietor or single member corporation, please contribute only from your personal account.

Steve will not accept any corporate or corporate PAC contributions. No exceptions.

The only PACs Steve will accept donations from are Green Party local, state, and US PACs.

All donations made before the February, 5th 2008 primary election are considered to be contributions towards Steve's primary election campaign.  Between the primary and November 4th, 2008 general election, all dollar values are reset.  Individuals may again donate up to $2,000 and Green Party PACs may donate up to $5,000.

Required Information

Every donator should clearly indicate his or her name and address. If you donate more than $200 in a calendar year, federal regulations require that you also provide your occupation and employer.

In the case of multiple individuals making contributions from a joint account, every donator must sign the check or a statement signed by all donators itemizing the contribution must accompany the payment.  For example, a married couple could send one check for up to $4,000 as long as they both sign. Each would then be considered to have donated the $2,000 limit. If only one person signs the check in this example, the Committee to Elect Steve Alesch will have to remit $2,000 to the donators because one person cannot donate more than $2,000 per election campaign.
